Hi, I’m Sarabeth!
I’m a tattoo artist and illustrator based in Portland, Oregon.
I’ve had the pleasure of working in the visual arts for most of my life, spending the last 13 years in one creative field or another. I’ve worked on key art for blockbuster films with Netflix and had film billboards on Sunset Boulevard, I’ve created covers and publication designs for Batman and Wonder Woman with DC Comics, but it’s the long storied craft of tattooing that has finally stolen my heart.
To me, tattooing is more than just a skill or profession; it's a powerful tool for empowerment and self-expression. I believe that tattoos, in particular, have the unique ability to tell personal stories, mark important milestones, and celebrate individuality. As your tattoo artist, my mission is to create art that not only adorns your skin but also resonates with your soul.
My journey:
After studying fine art and anthropology in college, I moved back to my hometown where I helped design posters and set decor for our local community theater. That portfolio helped land me my dream job at DC Comics in NYC where I was a publication designer for some of my all time favorite heroes. It was with DC that I moved to the West Coast after they were acquired by Warner Bros.
I spent the next ten years in Tinseltown, working with various entertainment companies, creating billboards for Netflix, For Your Consideration ads for A24, Video Game concept art, thumbnails and UI for Hulu, even working with juggernauts like Disney. While it was awesome to have my hand in such big name projects, the universe told me it was time to move on.
I started my tattooing journey at Patch Tattoo Therapy in Los Angeles. I’m forever honored to have been apart of that family, I wouldn’t have become the artist I am today without my mentor, Jingxi, offering me a space to learn and grow.
I continue to learn anywhere and everywhere I can, pulling inspiration from all over my artistic journey. I love the history that comes with tattooing, and hope to do the craft justice with my work.
I currently tattoo out of Solstice Tattoo PDX, an intimate and welcoming studio in the heart of the Pearl District in Portland, Oregon. We pride ourselves on being entirely women and LGBT+ owned, and hate in any form will not be tolerated within our studio. We’ve worked hard to build an open and safe space for anyone wanting to be tattooed, and it is incredibly important to me that my clients feel comfortable within our walls, no matter their gender identity, race, body type or anything else. Your session will be immediately terminated and you will be asked to leave, with no refunds, no matter how complete the tattoo, if any bigoted behavior is exhibited.
