Policies & FAQ

  • Yes! I typically post pieces that align with the style I’m most comfortable with and love doing, but I have been trained in all styles of tattooing. That said, I will deny a project if I feel I’m not the best artist for the piece or that I cannot do it justice.

  • Pre-drawn and flash prices are set and posted with each piece. These pieces offer little to no changes. If we go larger than the posted sizes, the price with adjust accordingly.

For customs, I book in half day and full day appointments. Half days are $450 and cover between 4-5 hours of tattooing. Full days are $800 and cover between 6-7 hours of tattooing.

Any piece taking more than 7 hours will be charged at the full day rate plus $120 for each additional hour.

For very small or simple customs (pieces that would take less than 3 hours of tattooing), I will give you a flat price. My minimum for any piece is $100.

  • I typically do not show the design until the day of the appointment. I allow enough time in the appointment to make small changes, but if there are any major changes needed, a new appointment and deposit will be needed.

This is why it is very important to review my body of work and be clear about your concept when we set the appointment. I do my best to ask about things I’m unsure of, but if there are any specifics that you need or hate, please let me know in advance so I can create the best piece of art for you!

  • Rest easy! I have a detailed explanation of how to prepare right here! If you ever have any questions about prep, don’t hesitate to reach out!

  • Thank you for asking!! Here is a detailed page with all my aftercare recommendations. If you have any questions about healing tattoos, please reach out!

  • Not at all! Tipping is always appreciated but never expected. I also love tips in non-cash forms! For example, I love snacks, coffee, and my crow brain loves little trinkets and ethically sourced dead things.

  • 2 day's notice is required if you cannot make it to your appointment. If you cancel or reschedule your appointment less than 2 days in advance, a new deposit may be required to reschedule at my discretion. The deposit exists to hold time in the calendar, which is difficult to fill after a short notice cancellation.

If you reschedule twice (ie: we've already set 3 appointments) then a new deposit is required to schedule.

If you no-call, no-show, you forfeit your claim to the design and I reserve the right to post it publicly if custom or rerelease it if a pre-drawn.

If you are more than 30 minutes late to your appointment without notice, I am no longer obligated to wait and see if you’ll show up and will result in the loss of your deposit. Lateness beyond an hour, even with notice, will result in the loss of your deposit.

  • It completely depends on the piece. Because the amount of additional planning and more limited options, I do them on a case-by-case basis so the best thing you can do is email me and we can chat!

  • Yes! I believe tattoos are for people of all skin colors, body types, gender identities, and sexual orientations.

More melanated skin can absolutely still hold color beautifully, if the artist works properly with the tones that are already present. If you’re worried about any colors or designs, feel free to reach out or schedule a consult and we can talk about how to make your dream tattoo work perfectly for you.

  • I’m honored, but please don’t. All designs are created and drawn by myself. I take a lot of pride in my art and spend a lot of time creating each piece, many of which are one-off designs.

I hold the rights to any designs produced by myself. I do not allow my work to be taken and done by another artist. Please respect this and only use my work, if not done by myself, as a reference only.

  • I do! I’m always down to talk about trading services, so long as it’s fair to both parties!

Things I’m currently willing to discuss trades for:

    • Hair services

    • Car maintenance

    • Plants (lots and lots of plants)

    • Outdoor furniture

Booking Process

I primarily accept booking requests through this form, or using the contact page on this website.

Once your request is submitted, you will receive a followup email where I will ask for more details and clarification on what you’re looking for. I may ask for additional reference photos or photos of the spot you’re looking to have tattooed in order to make sure we are on the same page and have realistic expectations of what is possible.

Once your idea has been accepted, I will send you a link to my calendar where you will book your own appointment day. A non-refundable deposit will be required at the time of booking to secure your appointment, and information on how to send the deposit is listed on the booking page.

I accept cash or Venmo for all deposits and final payments. I will accept cards on a case by case basis with an extra processing fee.

Due to limited space in our studio, I cannot accommodate groups, but you are welcome to bring one guest with you to your appointment.

At Solstice Tattoo PDX, we pride ourselves on being entirely women and LGBT+ owned, and hate in any form will not be tolerated within our studio. We’ve worked hard to build an open and safe space for anyone wanting to be tattooed, and it is incredibly important to me that my clients feel comfortable within our walls, no matter their gender identity, race, body type or anything else. Your session will be immediately terminated and you will be asked to leave, with no refunds, no matter how complete the tattoo, if any bigoted behavior is exhibited.
